Sick and Tired

We had a rough week following Natalie's party.
Natalie's stomach bug decided to wreak more havoc
by first biting Nat again just as the last guests left from her party...
then on to the rest of our crew.
Natalie and Daddy got over it finally.
Lainey had a pretty rough time kicking it though.
She ended up in the ER with dehydration.
Nothing a little IV fluids couldn't take care of.

Mom, this bites. And how 'bout I cut a tooth while I'm here?? No, really.

This is a pretty pitiful face. She didn't even have the energy to cry when they put the IV in:(

And she spent the rest of the week resting wherever she could.

Uh-oh, I think I'm gonna blow again...

JUST KIDDING MOM, COME BACK!!! All better now.

And the show must go on! Our other little rock star is back in action too, having fun with all of her birthday gifts...this one is from Nana.

If you don't have a 3 year old little girl in your house...

GET ONE!

And....ACTION!

Last week was full of it.
Action, that is.
(pull up a chair, this post is bound to be long.)

Our week started off in the inferno of L.A.
The air was smoky and thick but the view
from the plane was really unbelievable.

While we were there, Lainey learned how to play Peek-A-Boo:
(which she did with L.A.'s weirdest and wildest!)

(she usually covers her ears up! Way to go Baby Girl!)

We also stumbled across the big premier of "Dan In Real Life".

I have to admit, the BRIGHT lights and red carpet were cool.

As we were flying back, Natalie caught a stomach bug.

She was home with Nana.

Poor Nana.

She made a quick recovery though, just in time to celebrate

HER 3RD BIRTHDAY!

Every year we have a costume party with a theme to celebrate.

This year we had "A Night With the Stars".

Everyone came dressed as a movie character

and I mean everyone!

I don't know if the kids or adults had more fun dressing up.

Here are some pics from our Movie Night:

The Opening Shot

The Birthday Girl starring as "Cinderoola"

For not having a brain, he did pretty good with the camera!

Can you SEE this wig?? Napoleon holding Sully and Boo, from Monsters Inc.

Napoleon and Deb, with her caboodle of course!

Little Red Riding Hood, a.k.a. Nana

The Smiths, as Raising Arizona...genius.

The story Disney never told: Superman + Cruella=Dalmatians and Curious George. Who Knew?!

Super Lawson Family!

The Other Superman and Lois Lane/ The Accounting Firm of Schlegel and Schlegel

Patch Adams and Crew!

Look at the Too Cute Mini Mouses

Even Jim Caviezel made a special appearance

Yikes! James Dean is a pretty tough dude! You'd better watch him or he'll squirt you with ketchup.

The Devil Wears Prada to her debate tournament that was right before Nat's party;) Good thinking Shannie!

THE cutest lil' Boo! She was voted "Best Kid Costume"

The Accounting Firm of Schlegel and Schlegel delivering the list of winners for the night.

And our first winner of the night...The Best Birthday Girl Who's Turning 3!

And the winner of "Best Adult Costume" is...Ben McGregor as Napoleon Dynamite. He went on to thank his chapstick, all the little people, and in true Hollywood form declared, "George Bush Sucks!"

Superman Alex saved the night by rescuing the poor helpless baby...ok, no baby rescue. He just likes pushing strollers around and having tea with his cousin Natalie. He'll make a good daddy one day;)

Oh, do you think it ends there??? No no.

More fun ensued, but I'll save that for another post;)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY NATALIE!

You are one loved little girl!

A Weekend of Butt-Kicking

There's just no nice way of saying it.
First our Cowboys, then Lainey
courtesy of the kitchen floor.

Ben was given four great seats to the big game:
Cowboys vs Patriots.
My first NFL game.
It was so exciting to be there
but the whippin' still stings.

We'll see about settling the score at the Super Bowl.

Hurray hurray, we're on our way...

Kev, don't look now but Romo is right in front of you!!!

Oh wait, THERE's my boyfriend:)

My MAIN man

Romo, rallying the troops

"Floor, I will pee on you next time you give me trouble!"

"Mommy, don't worry. I took care of it."

Dream Girl

Natalie has been having dreams lately.
She's been having them all along, no doubt
but she's able to remember them now and tell us about them.

The first one she told us about was last week.
She came in at her usual time of 6:20 a.m.

"Mommy, Mommy, Lainey was crying
(she HAD been crying most of the night, more teeth issues)
and we were in OK and I sang to her and she fell asleep!"

She proceeded to repeat this over and over
with excitement building. She was so proud of herself.

I asked her what song she sang to Lainey.
She said the "ocean song"??
When I asked her how it went
she sang, "OHHHH my soul rejoice..."
Ocean, oh my soul, I can understand that.

The song she is referring to is "I Love You Lord"
the song we have sung to her anytime she was/is upset
since she was a baby.

She is comforting her baby sister
the same way she has been comforted.
Scripture coming to life already in Natalie's life (2 Cor 1:4).
Sweet.

Of course, there have been the
not so profound dreams too...
like the one when some baby's big foot fell off
and Nat tried to put it back on and
"it was asgusting!"
("disgusting" in layman's terms)

Here's Natalie singing a little of that song...
