Easter Fun...Mostly

This Easter was eventful for sure. With RSV season coming to an end, we were excited to get Lainey out and about with friends and family this month. She had her "coming out" party at the beginning of the week with an Easter party at a friend's house with all of her church friends...of course, she doesn't know any of them since she doesn't go to church, but she was still so excited to be surrounded by all the fun!

We then went to visit our family in OK, where we always have so much fun, playing out in the country at Nonnie's and NaNa's with Alex, T, Angel and Justin...but we can never escape Lainey's darn asthma when visiting. The days leading up to Easter we worked at getting the asthma under control, when first Natalie caught a little virus with a slight fever and cough. She kicked it in a day, the hoss, but then Lainey and Rhett got in on the action. They didn't handle it as well. Lainey's asthma episode set her up for something worse. Both babies ended up with a fever of over 103, wet coughs, and trips (yes, plural) to the ER and urgent care centers with dehydration and respiratory distress...and we were out of town, away from our doctors and hospitals, for most of the fun!

The exciting thing is, we heard this is going around! Why does this excite us?? Because, even NORMAL kids are getting this high fever and wet cough (this is how Lainey used to respond to every little germ that she came in contact with and it often times landed us in the hospital for days). So our Lainey Bug IS a normal kid now it seems!!! She just responded to this virus a little more dramatically because of her battle with asthma at the same time. The things we get excited about around here:)

On to pictures...what a great time we had with our family and friends!

Nat's Worship

Today in Nat's Sunday school class, a lady who leads worship at our church came in with guitar in hand and led the kids in worship. It was sweet and cute. I thought that's all it was for these 3-5 year olds.

Then we came home.

Natalie ran straight to her room, grabbed her guitar and went outside...and proceeded to have her own worship time on our back patio as the rest of us ate lasagna.

Really, what a moment as we watched Natalie worship so passionately, eyes closed, face pointing to the sky, singing, "You are beautiful, I love you" (no doubt trying to remember the song she sang in class, "...beautiful One I love..."). We all sat with tears in our eyes knowing she had Heaven's ear.

Then The (naked) Tornado buzzed through the kitchen, threatening to poop on the floor.

But wow! Still, a powerful and humbling moment. Our sweet, cute little 4 year old is taking it all in and soaking in it.

I want more time to soak.

My Lovies (minus Daddy)

Our little man's 6 month pictures...at 7.5 months:) I'm so determined to have pictures of the third child (Kristin, thanks for helping a mama out!) and, oh yes, I WILL fill out his baby book. Eventually.

Now take a look at the little cutie who makes my heart flutter...

Always sucking his thumb...his left one to be exact. He's our first thumb-sucker and I think it's adorable...I know, for now.

We were able to get a shot of Lainey this time! She ran in from playing outside just for one second. I wish I looked this good after playing outside! She's next up for an appointment with Kristin!

And a picture with THE BEST big sister that I have ever seen!!! Really, she's blowing Kevin and me away! We are so blessed. (She also ran in from playing outside...note the bling and dress! Wears them everywhere!)

No, you can't have him! Any of them!!! :) We are totally and completely wrapped!
